SAMU CÁRDENAS
My devotion to the the ocean began in my home town Tarifa, the most southern point of Spain, sitting in between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. With the gift of being born in Tarifa it clearly determined my love for water sports photography. My goal and dream is to transmit the viewers at least a bit of what I feel when making the photos: Pure happiness and passion.
For now I’ve been involved in photography since 2016 and since 2018 working as a professional, always putting the eye and the heart in the same line.
Currently I’m an ambassador of Om System Spain. Im supported in the water by Mystic Boarding.
My main enthusiasm is ocean photography and water sports.
My work
In the past, I’ve worked for the Spain Kiteboarding League (SKL) for 6 consecutive years along with the Tarifa Kite Pro World Cup in 2016. Apart, I’ve been working since 2021 as a part of the media team in many stops of the GKA World Tour and GWA World Tour. Asides from working with numerous International brands such as Red Bull, Porsche, North, Airush, Duotone, Ion, Mystic, Prolimit, Adidas, Ozone, Slingshot, and more.
Over the past seven years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with numerous professional kiteboarders within the industry. This experience has been a rich source of learning, where the feedback received helped me grow professionally. My distinctive competency lies in deeply understanding the individual rider, immersing myself in the moment, creating an authentic bond with the athlete or model, which allows me to capture their essence. This extends beyond kiteboarding sessions, encompassing a large range of sports and photo shoots, where I specialize in capturing the essence of the moment and establishing genuine connections with athletes and models.

I travelled all around the world with my camera, I have been in Greece, Indonesia, Brazil, Egypt, South Africa, U.S.A, Cape Verde and other countries undertaking photoshoots for various brands and plenty of extreme sports athletes.
